India has committed NRs 474 million for the construction of 12 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal, focusing on sectors such as education, health, agriculture, drinking water, and culture. The Embassy of India and the Nepalese Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration signed the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for these projects on Friday.

The funding will support various initiatives, including the construction of school buildings and a multipurpose foundation building. Notable projects include the Basepu-Hulu Water Supply Project in Solukhumbu, a building for the Agriculture Promotion Centre for Food Grain Collection and Distribution in Bajura, a Health Post-Birthing Centre in Dhading, and an Operation Theatre Building at the Rapti Eye Hospital in Dang.

These projects will be implemented through local authorities of the Nepalese government. The construction aims to enhance educational, healthcare, drinking water access, agricultural storage, and cultural facilities for local communities.

Since 2003, India has initiated over 563 High Impact Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting community development in the region.
