India: Testing decreased so cases decreased, but the death toll is still scary

New Delhi: 3,29,517 corona cases have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours. There are 3,879 patients who have died of this epidemic. The country has seen a decline in the number of corona cases over the past few days. On the other hand, the number of corona testing has been reduced and this is when the infection rate is increasing rapidly. That is, more people are getting infected now than before.

The number of corona testing has been reduced in several states including Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat. Meanwhile, corona testing has been increased in Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. Karnataka has recorded the highest number of corona cases in the last 24 hours. Karnataka has found 39,305 new corona patients, while corona has claimed 596 lives. The highest number of corona cases in the state are coming up in the capital Bengaluru, where 16,747 were found infected. A 14-day lockdown has been imposed to control the pace of corona infection in the state, which will continue till 6 am on May 24.

There has been a major decline in corona infection cases in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. The state reported 37,236 new corona cases and 549 patients died. More than 61,000 corona patients have recovered in a day in the state and the recovery rate has gone up to close to 87 percent. There are currently more than 5.90 lakhs active patients in the state.
