India created history by defeating Australia on its own soil in third test match. Team India won the Gabba Test by 3 wickets. Rishabh Pant shines with a match-winning 89 not out.
India got off to a poor start, losing opener Rohit Sharma in the early stages of Day 5. Shubman Gill stitched a strong partnership with Pujara, bringing the visitors back into the game. Gill slammed 91 runs off 146 balls, before losing his wicket to Nathan Lyon. Stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane played a quick knock of 24 runs off 22 deliveries, before getting dismissed by Pat Cummins. Rahane's wicket was followed by Pujara's dismissal, who scored a valiant half-century, before losing his wicket to Cummins. Finally, Rishabh Pant played an iconic inning to capture the Fortress Gabba.
Rishabh Pant deserves so much of appreciation. Under all sorts of pressure he delivered yet again, last time he couldn't win with his 97 but this time made sure to hit the winning runs. Team India proved that India has the strongest team even without big players like Virat, Bhumrah, Shami and Jadeja.
