New Delhi: India told the UN Security Council on Thursday that Pakistan-based terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed are carrying out their activities without fear and are also getting a boost for it. Jaishankar also recalled the 2008 Mumbai terror attack by Pakistan-based terrorists, the Air Force Base in Pathankot, and the Pulwama attack, and said the international community should never harbor terror.

Addressing a high-level meeting on "Threat to International Peace and Security due to Terrorist Acts" chaired by the UN Security Council, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said the increase in activities of the banned Haqqani Network justifies the growing problem.

Jaishankar said, "In our neighborhood, ISIL-Khorasan (ISIL-K) has become more powerful and is constantly trying to spread its footprint. Developments in Afghanistan have naturally added to global problems in view of regional and international security. "Whether it is in Afghanistan or against India, groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have a question and are fearlessly carrying out their activities. The External Affairs Minister said that it is therefore important that the Security Council "does not adopt a selective, strategic or smug approach to the difficulties facing us"
