New Delhi: Amidst Ukraine-Russia tensions, where countries across the world seem to be divided into two factions, Russia has praised the stand taken by India on the Ukraine crisis in the midst of this confrontation. Russia has said that we welcome India's balanced, principled and independent stance. In fact, on Thursday, India had said in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting regarding the Ukraine crisis that 'quiet and constructive diplomacy' is the need of the hour and any step that increases tension should be avoided.
The Russian Embassy in New Delhi on Friday praised India's balanced side. At the UNSC meeting on Ukraine crisis, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations T.S. Tirumurti had requested for immediate reduction of tension. After which Russia responded by saying that we welcome India's balanced, principled and independent stand.
