India hands over disaster relief materials to Nepal

KATHMANDU: India sent Nepal with disaster relief supplies on Friday to assist the Himalayan nation in coping with the situation brought on by floods and landslides.

Bal Krishna Khad, the home minister, received the supplies from Naveen Srivastava, the Indian ambassador to Nepal. Ten motorised inflatable boats and 3,000 large/family tents are included in the relief supplies.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu released a statement saying, "As part of our continuous commitment to support Nepal's disaster relief operations, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal handed over consignments of flood and disaster-relief goods to the Home Minister of Nepal."

In his remarks during the ceremony, Srivastava recommended that the involved agencies make the most use of this timely supply of relief items to achieve their maximum benefit through prompt distribution and efficient utilisation.

Khand hailed the Indian government for providing relief supplies on schedule and praised India and Nepal's collaboration in disaster relief. According to the Embassy, India and Nepal cooperate extensively and across several sectors.
