ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan harshly criticised Pakistan's current federal coalition government, claiming that "American slaves" had raised the prices of petroleum products while India bought cheap oil from Russia and decreased prices.
"It showed India is free, but we (Pakistanis) are slaves," the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman said at a workers convention in Sheikabad, Charsadda, on Sunday, according to the News report. He praised India for its autonomous foreign policy, claiming that the country imported crude oil from Russia despite US sanctions. "Our administration reached an arrangement with Russia to purchase oil at a 30% discount. Our government was overthrown as a result of a plot "he stated.
Khan stated that Pakistan's rapid rise required an independent foreign policy. He warned that the people of Pakistan would not forgive Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, or Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz for torturing peaceful demonstrators and raiding their homes.
The PTI president underlined that they would all be brought to justice and imprisoned as soon as possible. Khan urged the youth to prepare for another long march, saying his party would soon begin marching towards Islamabad in order to overthrow the "imported administration." He threatened that if his party's workers were denied their rights through peaceful means, they would "snatch" them.
