According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), India has spent $76.6 billion on the military in the year 2021. This is the third largest military spending figure in the world. India spent 0.9 percent more than a year ago, compared to 33 percent more than in 2012.

To speed up the production of weapons in the country, the government has announced a huge defense budget. To become self-reliant, India is now spending heavily in the manufacture of weapons. In terms of spending on the military, the US and China are still in first and second place. The US spent $ 801 billion on the military in the year 2021, which is 1.4 percent less than in 2020. At the same time, China spent $293 billion, which is 4.7 percent more than in 2020. According to SIPRI, the highest expenditure was incurred on the army in 2021 and this figure increased to 2.1 trillion.

The Stockholm Institute has said in a statement that in 2021, the total military expenditure in the world has increased by 0.7 percent. This figure has reached US$ 2113 billion. America, China, India, Britain and Russia are in the top five countries that spend the most on military in the world. These five countries spend 62 percent of the world's expenditure. Even after Corona, the expenditure on the army has not reduced.
