The Indian Men's Hockey team is in a good position after 8 matches in the FIH Pro League and is going to try to reach the top of the table by winning two matches against England starting here on Saturday. The second match of this match is scheduled to be played on Sunday.

Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist India has played 8 matches this season so far and is second in the table after Germany (17 points) with 16 points. The Indian team had won one match against France (5-0, 2-5) and Spain (5-4, 3-5) while losing one match. Earlier, they had beaten South Africa 10-2, 10-2.

India recently suffered a 2-2 (1-3 defeat in the shoot-out) in the first match against Argentina, but in the second match, they have won a thrilling 4-3 victory. The defence line is a matter of concern for India ahead of the match against England, which is crumbling under pressure. India has easily conceded a few goals and vice-captain Harmanpreet Singh has admitted that the team may have to improve its defence.
