All over India, the 5G rollout is eagerly awaited and continuous work is also being done in the process. A report claims that 5G rollouts across India will require Rs 2.3 lakh crore. The claim has been made on the basis of TRAI's latest reserve price in a telecom report of Motilal Oswal Financial Services.

The report says that 84 billion rupees will be required for providing a 100MHz mid-band spectrum in Mumbai, which may also increase if the bid price is more than the base price. Based on the latest reserve price of TRAI, according to a telecom report by Motilal Oswal Financial Services, the requirement of Capex to get a 100MHz mid-band spectrum in Mumbai will be Rs. 84 billion, which may increase if the bid price is more than the base price.

There will be a need for 9k sites for coverage with a cost of Rs 20 lakh per site. The total CAPEX requirement for the sites will be Rs 18 billion, taking the total CAPEX to Rs 100 billion.
