President Ram Nath Kovind said that as thriving democracies and economic giants, India and the Netherlands are "natural partners" who share a common outlook on multilateral solutions to global challenges. He also said that both countries are committed to achieving peace, security, and prosperity in the strategic Indo-Pacific region.

President Ram Nath Kovind landed in Amsterdam from Turkmenistan on Monday for the final phase of his two-nation trip - the first presidential visit to the Netherlands in 34 years since President R Venkataraman's visit in 1988 - during which he would hold talks with the country's top officials.

In his speech at King Willem Alexander's state banquet on Tuesday, Kovind noted that this year marks a watershed moment in bilateral relations because the two countries are commemorating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, which reflects the breadth of the India-Netherlands partnership. "India and the Netherlands are natural allies as two vibrant democracies and economic heavyweights. We have similar perspectives on multilateral solutions to global concerns "According to Kovind.

President Ram Nath Kovind has praised the Netherlands as a key role in the strategic Indo-Pacific region and the European Union (EU), saying the two countries share a commitment to attaining global peace, security, and prosperity.

"The Netherlands can also play a key role in bolstering India-EU ties in sectors like as connectivity, energy transformation, and trade and investment," he added. The President's visit comes after the King and Queen of England's state visit to India in 2019.
