India-Pakistan agreed to maintain peace on LoC

New Delhi: Director Generals of the Military Operations of India and Pakistan (DGMO) spoke to each other through the hotline. Both sides have agreed to maintain peace on the border. Reviewing the current situation on the Line of Control (LoC), the armies of the two countries have agreed to strictly abide by all agreements. It is effective from midnight of 24-25 February. In this way, efforts are being made for peace on LoC after LAC.

India and Pakistan reviewed the independent, clear and amicable environment in the Line of Control (LoC) and all other areas. The DGMOs on both sides have agreed to establish mutually lasting peace along the borders. Both sides have agreed to strictly follow all agreements etc. made along the Line of Control. The DGMO on both sides reiterated that the existing mechanism of talk and border flag meeting will be used on the hotline to resolve any unforeseen situation or misunderstanding. In this regard, both sides have issued a joint statement.

Shortly before India and China had signed an agreement for peace in the finger area of Pangong Lake on the Line of Actual Control (LaC). After that the Chinese troops had returned to the previous year's situation. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced this agreement in Parliament and said that the world has known that the language of weapons will no longer work.
