India sent 5 crore hydroxychloroquine tablets to US on the request of Donald Trump

New Delhi: India has promised to send malaria medicine hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to help America in the war against the Corona epidemic. Now fulfilling this promise, 5 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine have been delivered to the US from India. US President Donald Trump himself called up PM Narendra Modi and requested to open the export. It is one of the largest consignments of medicine delivered by India. News agency Reuters has given information in this regard by quoting sources.

However, some US regulators have also warned that the use of this malaria drug in the treatment of corona may be dangerous. A source told Reuters, 'This consignment is of 5 crore tablets. It is being delivered through commercial companies. Senior Vice President of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA) said, "There is a great demand for hydroxychloroquine medicine in the international market including America." The Commissioner of Food and Drug Control Administration of Gujarat said that 68 new licenses have been issued to manufacture this medicine in Gujarat alone.

Hydroxychloroquine is also considered to be very effective in the treatment of corona infection. India has approved the export of malaria drug hydroxychloroquine and another important drug paracetamol to the US. US President Donald Trump himself called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested to open the export.
