India has achieved a significant milestone in its defense capabilities with the successful test-flight of the new Agni-Prime ballistic missile. The test, conducted off the coast of Odisha's APJ Abdul Kalam Island, has been confirmed by the Defence Ministry.
The trial, held on Wednesday evening, fulfilled all its objectives, proving the missile's reliability. Data collected from various range sensors placed at different locations confirmed its performance. The Strategic Forces Command (SFC) in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) spearheaded the test.
Key military officials, including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, witnessed the launch, extending their congratulations to DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces for this successful achievement. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of this development, stating that the missile's integration will significantly enhance the country's defense capabilities.
This successful flight test follows a night launch of the Agni Prime missile in June 2023, which also met all objectives. The Defence Ministry highlighted that this launch validates the system's precision and dependability, further cementing India's prowess in defense technology.
