New Delhi: The Indian Navy's P-8I surveillance aircraft are constantly hovering in eastern Ladakh in view of the ongoing conflict with China, and now the MiG-29K maritime warfare aircraft is also under operation. These naval warships are being deployed on various bases of the Air Force as per the instructions of PM Narendra Modi and the intention of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat.

PM Modi has instructed to establish mutual coordination between the three Army wings - Army, Navy, and Airforce. CDS has asked to deploy the naval warplanes along with the Airforce on the northern or western borders of the country. Government sources said, 'The MiG-29 fighter aircraft are being planned to be deployed at the Airforce base in the Northern sector. They can be used for operational flights (operational flying) on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. '

The Indian Navy is playing an important role in monitoring the LAC amid ongoing deadlock with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. Naval aircraft are being assisted in keeping an eye on Chinese activities around the border. Naval surveillance aircraft were heavily used even during the dispute in Doklam in 2017.
