New Delhi: A good news has come for India amid the ongoing tension along the border with China. India will get the first delivery of the world's most advanced S-400 missile defense system from Russia by the end of the year. Earlier it was supposed to meet India in 2021, but amidst the ongoing deadlock with China, Russia has agreed to give India this impregnable protective shield by the end of the year.
India had made a deal of about 40 thousand crores for this system with Russia. According to the deal, Russia will deliver an S-400 Advanced Air Defense Missile System to India every year by 2024. India has to get a total of five units from Russia. This Russian system is considered the world's best air defense system. It is capable of destroying any air strike from enemy side at a distance of 400 km. This missile, fighter plane is capable of targeting all types of drones. Apart from this defense system, India is also buying 31 fighter jets from Russia. India is also in talks with Russia on the equipment of the same T-90 tank.
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who returned to participate in Russia's Victory Day Parade two days ago, spoke with Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Ivanik Borisov during his visit to Russia. This air defense system was specifically discussed in this meeting. In conversation, Borisov assured to make the S-400 defense system available to India by the end of this year.
