In Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu, a father-son died due to police brutality. Media reports have also revealed that they were also sexually assaulted in police custody. The father-son duo was picked up for questioning by the Sathankulam police for keeping their mobile accessories shop open during the lockdown on 19 June. While in custody, they were brutalized by the police and they died.

It is being told that the son became ill during the police torture and died on 22 June at Kovilpatti General Hospital. However, his father died on the morning of 23 June. Family members demand that the Tamil Nadu Police be booked for murder against two sub-inspectors. They allege that they are responsible for the death of father and son.
