Tensions between the U.S. and Turkey continue over Russia's decision to buy the S-400 missile defense system. Meanwhile, India's Defence Ministry has made a big statement on the S-400. Replying to a question on the S-400 missile defence system in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Defence Sripad Naik said, "On October 5, 2018, India had entered into an agreement with Russia on the S-400 missile defence system. He further said that the delivery of The S-400 to India will begin from 2023.

To avoid US sanctions, India and Russia are working to break the siverge on the Purchase of the S-400 missile defense system. The two countries have agreed to pay for a five-billion-u.s.-billion-u.s.-year defence deal through their national currencies. According to sources, the first installment of the Russian missile defense system S-400 will be paid under the same arrangement. The Moscow official said that India and Russia are now determined to pay the defence deal in the Russian currency ruble and the Indian currency rupee. However, the way to pay off the dollar will also remain open.

For your information, India signed the S-400 Missile Defense System Purchase Agreement with Russia despite being threatened by the US. Diplomatic sources said India meets the terms of exemption from u.S. sanctions to buy the S-400 missile defense system from Russia.
