New Delhi: There has been a new twist in the case of a forgery in the TRP i.e. television rating point. Nitin Devtax, Deputy General Manager of Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd., a company responsible for TRP in Mumbai, has also lodged an FIR. The copy that has come out mentions the name of 'India Today' not 'Republic'.

The Mumbai police has clarified after the FIR was copied. The Joint Commissioner (crime) of Mumbai Police, Milind Bharambe, informed that the FIR of Hansa had the name of India today, but one of the arrested accused had named Republic TV and 2 Marathi channels in the interrogation. Evidence has been received against these three channels from the basis of the investigation which has been conducted so far. Our investigation is still continuing. If evidence is found against any channel, the investigation will go ahead accordingly.

On Thursday, Mumbai Police commissioner Parambir Singh, while holding press talks, claimed that Republic TV and 2 Marathi channels were involved in the game of acquiring fake TRP. They were increasing the TRP by paying money. In this case, the Mumbai police had made 4 persons including the owner of 2 Marathi channels.  Police have issued summons to Republic TV's consulting editor Pradeep Bhandari on Friday. The channel owner Arnab Goswami, promoters, and some others can also be summoned for questioning by issuing summons.
