New Delhi: India has emphasized the importance of responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology at the ongoing G-20 meeting in Bali. Ashwini Vaishnaw, India’s Minister of Electronics and Information Technology highlighted the transformative potential of AI while urging measures to ensure its responsible deployment.

During his address, Minister Vaishnaw stressed the need to harness AI for the betterment of society, emphasizing that safeguards must be implemented to prevent its misuse. He further called for the establishment of international standards governing the development and use of AI, ensuring its responsible and ethical deployment. "We need to ensure that AI is used for good and not for harm," stated Minister Vaishnaw. 

The G-20 meeting serves as a platform for the world's 20 largest economies to collaborate on economic policies. The current meeting in Bali is addressing critical issues such as global economic growth, climate change, and digital transformation.
