Former opener Matthew Hayden has made himself available for the Australian team after Australia's poor performance in the second Test against India in Delhi. The legendary batsman is prepared to share his understanding of Indian conditions with the current crop of players to aid them in overcoming Indian spinners.

Matthew Hayden, who serves as a commentator for the programme, is more than willing to support the Australian batters in the unusual subcontinental environment. The former Australian cricketer played for the visiting team that won the Test series in 2004, which was their final victory in India. He expressed his desire to assist his countrymen without charging them anything.

"It is a given that I would be there 100 percent of the time at any hour of the day or night, and I'm sure I speak for anyone else I represent who would have that type of effect. When questioned about assisting the Australian players, Hayden told The Age, "Anytime I have been asked to do anything, I've always answered yes at whatever time of day.
Teams all over the world are using the experience of former Australian cricketers, as demonstrated by Shreyas Iyer's close friendship with Ricky Ponting and Matthew Mott's contribution to England's victory in the T20 World Cup.

Inquire, and we did. Even though it didn't happen, building relationships doesn't take much, the former opener continued.

McDonald had defended the side's preparation for the series in India, mentioning that they would not have changed what they did in the lead-up. The coach also offered a cheeky backhander to Hayden for his criticism of the team’s overuse of the sweep shot. Hayden had used a broom in a Star Sports segment to colourfully make the point.
