New Delhi: Team India has announced its final-11 team for the day-night Test match starting with Australia from Thursday. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are not in the team in this match played at Adelaide Oval ground. This first match of the four-Test Border-Gavaskar Test Series will be India's second day-night Test match. After this match, Virat Kohli will return to India for the birth of his first child.

It was expected that Shubman Gill would get an opportunity to debut after given the poor form of Prithvi Shaw, but the team management decided to accompany Shaw. He will open the innings with Mayank Agarwal. India also had the option of Lokesh Rahul for the opening batsman, but the team has decided to keep Rahul on the bench for a long time. Ravichandran is in a spinner squad as Ashwin. Umesh Yadav is the third fast bowler along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Indian team: Virat Kohli (captain), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha (wicketkeeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
