Mumbai: In Mumbai, the second Test of the current Test series between India and New Zealand is underway. Virat Kohli, the captain of Team India, won the toss and chose to bat first. The toss had previously been postponed owing to a damp tint on the outfield caused by rain. Kohli's presence has boosted Team India, according to him. The team's troubles have been compounded by Kane Williamson's withdrawal from the second Test.

Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for injury in the Indian cricket team's playing-11.  He has been replaced by captain Virat Kohli, Mohammad Siraj and Jayant Yadav in the final XI.  On the other hand, Darrell Mitchell has been included in the New Zealand squad in place of captain Kane Williamson. On the last day of the Kanpur Test, Ishant Sharma suffered a small finger injury on his left hand, which is yet to heal.  Jadeja is having swelling in the right wrist and is undergoing a scan.  Rahane also complained of a hamstring in his left leg on the last day of the Kanpur Test.  They have not recovered so far.
