Lucknow: PM Narendra Modi today handed over the Purvanchal Expressway to the state ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The 341 km long Poorvanchal Expressway will connect eastern and western UP. The expressway will start from Chand Sarai in Lucknow and go to Ghazipur. It has cost Rs 22,497 crore to build. The expressway will pass through 9 districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. PM Modi laid the foundation stone from Azamgarh in July 2018.

After the inauguration of the Poorvanchal Expressway, PM Modi is now watching an air show at the airstrip in Sultanpur. Fighter jets like Rafael, Sukhoi and Mirage are doing touch and go operations at this air show. That is, planes come flying and go back to the sky as soon as they touch the ground. The runway is 3.2 kilometers long. It is designed as a preparation for war-like situations. Videos of air shows by the Air Force on the expressway have also surfaced in which IAF yawners are seen showing their mettle.

The Air Strip of Purvanchal Expressway was also performed by an AN32 cargo aircraft carrying food and logistics to army personnel during the war. On the other hand, 30 people performed tricks in the air in the sky of Purvanchal. Mirage 2000 then took off on the airstrip. PM Modi enjoyed the air show and saluted the bravery of the Army. PM Modi, Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi Adityanath and senior Army officials were present.
