New Delhi: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja responded to remarks made earlier by legendary World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, who claimed that the current Indian players have grown conceited. Dev asserted that players have grown haughty as a result of the game's excessive financial investment.
After making a major comment about the Indian players, Dev, who is very outspoken about his views and opinions, caught everyone's attention.
“Sometimes, when too much money comes, arrogance comes. These cricketers, they feel they know everything,” Kapil Dev said.

Jadeja, however, vehemently denied it before the third One-Day International between India and the West Indies. The star all-rounder respectfully disagreed with the statement, adding that former players have a right to their opinions but that there is no conceit on the part of the Indian team.
But prior to the third One-Day International between India and the West Indies, Jadeja categorically denied it. The star all-rounder expressed his disagreement in a humble manner, saying that former players have a right to express their views but that the Indian team does not possess any conceit.
“I don’t know when he has said this. I don’t search these things on social media. See everyone has their own opinion. Ex-player have full right to share his opinion, but I don’t think there is not any arrogance in this team,” Jadeja told reporters ahead of the series decider.
No one is taking anything for granted when it comes to performing for the team, according to Jadeja, who claimed that the players are giving it their all on the field.

“Everyone is enjoying their cricket and everyone are hardworking. No one has taken anything for granted. They are giving their 100 per cent," he added.
Regarding Dev's criticism, Jadeja added that there was no personal motivation in the matter because such remarks from former players always come after India loses a game.
“Such comments generally come when Indian team lost a match. This is a good bunch of boys, this is a good group. We are representing India and that is our main aim, there is no personal agenda,” he added.
In the second ODI, India lost to West Indies by a crushing margin of six wickets without the services of senior stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. For the series finale in Trinidad, the pair is anticipated to revert to their starting lineup.
It will be intriguing to see if Rohit will start again or if India will stick with their innovative strategy at the top with Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill.
