Leh: The armies of India and China have come face-to-face in Ladakh. People from border villages are also standing alongside the army amid the ongoing pull-up on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The army has stepped up deployment on high hills near Pangong Lake. The common people helped the army without any remuneration, and the people helped in transporting military equipment in difficult terrain.

The deployment of troops has also been stepped up in the Chushul Valley area, which witnessed the 1962 war between India and China. This is the area where the Indian Army warriors were transported by air in 1962. The Kumaon Rejingla Memorial has also been built in remembrance of it. Tensions with China are at its peak at the moment.
