Srinagar: The Indian Army and police in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir achieved a major breakthrough on Tuesday. Two terrorists have been killed by Lashkar-e-Taiba in an encounter in Kupwara. This information was given by the police officer. He said a Pakistani terrorist was also among the dead. At the moment, the search operation is going on.

The police had reported an encounter in the Chataras Kandi area of Kupwara. According to media reports, Kashmir IGP Vijay Kumar has informed that two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been killed. He said that one Pakistani terrorist Tufail was also among them. Search operations by the army and police are underway in the area. Earlier, a Pakistani terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district on Monday, while three terrorists managed to escape from the spot.

Giving information, a police official said that acting on specific information about the presence of militants in Panipura forest of Jalur area of Sopore, the security forces laid a cordon and launched a search operation. After the targeted killing of Hindus in Kashmir, the security forces launched an operation against the terrorists in the Valley.
