New Delhi: The Indian Army's response to an article in the English newspaper 'The Hindu' last Sunday titled "Minor clashes with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley" has surfaced. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Army said that there has been no such "minor confrontation" between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh in the first week of May 2021.

"It is clarified that there has been no such minor clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh in the first week of May 2021," the Army said of The Hindu's article.

The Army strongly objected to the article in 'The Hindu' saying that the source through which the article was written appears to be trying to influence the ongoing efforts to resolve the disputed issues in eastern Ladakh. "The article appears to be inspired by sources trying to derail the ongoing process for early resolution of issues in eastern Ladakh," the army said.

At the same time, the Indian Army has also urged the media to clarify the situation through an authorized source of the Army itself if they are writing something about the Indian Army, not on the basis of non-certified inputs from any third party. The army said,  "Media professionals are urged to clarify the actual hybridization/status on incidents related to the Indian Army from the authorized sources of the Indian Army and not by basing the report on unsubstantiated input from third parties".
