Republic Day Parade 2024: The upcoming Republic Day parade by the Indian Army is set to feature a dazzling array of Made-in-India weapon systems and platforms. The spotlight will be on indigenous creations such as the LCH Prachand chopper, Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, and Nag anti-tank missiles.

The LCH Prachand, crafted by HAL, stands as India's inaugural Multi-Role Combat Helicopter. Boasting formidable ground attack and aerial combat capabilities, the helicopter exhibits modern stealth features, robust armor protection, and a potent night attack capability. Equipped with an advanced navigation system, close combat-tailored guns, and powerful air-to-air missiles, the LCH is tailored for the demands of the modern battlefield.

Developed by DRDO, the NAG anti-tank missile is designed to engage heavily fortified enemy tanks in both day and night conditions. With "Fire & Forget" and "Top Attack" capabilities, along with passive homing guidance, the missile can defeat Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) equipped with composite and reactive armor. The NAG missile carrier, NAMICA, is an amphibious system based on BMP II.

The parade will also showcase the latest armored and specialist vehicles produced by the Indian industry, including the Quick Fighting Reaction Vehicle, Light Specialist Vehicle, and the All Terrain Vehicle. These vehicles will march on the Kartavya Path during the event, where French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest, according to Army officials.

Other weapon systems set to be displayed include the T-90 tank, BMP-2 infantry combat vehicle, drone jammers, Advanced Sarvatra bridge, Medium Range Surface to Air Missile launcher, and multi-function radar. Among them, the Swathi Weapon Locating Radar, designed indigenously, can locate guns, mortars, and rockets firing on own troops, facilitating their destruction through Counter Bombardment by own firepower resources.

The parade will also highlight the instrumental role of women in the defense forces. Sixty women soldiers from the Army, Air Force, and Navy will form a tri-services all-women marching contingent, showcasing the growing presence and contributions of women in the Indian armed forces.
