India got a tough draw in the AFC Under-16 Football Championship to be held this year, where the team is placed in Group C with strong teams like Republic of Korea, Australia and Uzbekistan. The official draw of the tournament to be held in Bahrain from September 16 to October 3 was held at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur. The teams that make it to the semi-finals of the tournament will qualify directly for the Under-17 World Cup to be held in Peru in 2021. India has made it to the under-16 finals while being the top in Group B in Tashkent.

In fact, in India's pool in Tashkent, hosts Uzbekistan included Bahrain and Turkmenistan teams. At the same time, the Indian team had scored seven points in three matches. The team had scored 11 goals, while only one goal was scored against it. The Indian team has qualified for the AFC Under-16 Finals for the third consecutive and ninth time.

Let us tell you that the head coach of India's Under-16 national team, Bibiano Fernandez, said that the boys are desperate to face the challenge. He further said, 'I don't like to have any kind of expectations before the start of the tournament. It is difficult to face all the teams at this level. We have improved as a team in the last few years. I am sure boys like me are also desperate to face this challenge.
