On Thursday, The entire nation was left shocked after at least 44 security personnel were martyred and several others were left injured as a militant from terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) targetted the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) group with a car bomb in Awatipora of Jammu and Kashmirâs Pulwama district. In what is being considered as Kashmirâs worst attack on security forces, the vehicle with over 100 kg of explosives rammed into the bus which was part of the CRPFâs 70-vehicle convoy. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who was earlier criticised on Twitter for posting a promotional tweet after the attacks happened, on Friday sent heartfelt condolences to the martyred soldiers and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Here,a series of tweet for cricket world comes as Kohli is not the first sportsman to react on the devastating incident as the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif have already expressed grief over the shocking tragedy.Kohli on social media platform Twitter on Friday wrote as âI'm shocked after hearing about the attack in Pulwama, heartfelt condolences to the martyred soldiers & prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured jawaans,â.

Before this tweet  on Thursday, few promotional tweets were posted from Kohliâs account. The fans slammed Kohli for his tweets and termed it âill-timedâ. Kohli posted a couple of tweets about the Indian Sports Honours when the entire nation was mourning the heavy loss of 37 CRPF jawans. However, the Indian captain quickly deleted the posts after the backlash.
Meanwhile, Kohli is likely to be part of the Indian squad to host Australia for two T20Is and five ODIs with some big names expected to be rested. The first T20I is scheduled to be played on February 24.
