However, Dhoni was quoted as saying by PTI, "It always reminds me of the great legacy that we have got. It's not only that. Playing each and every bilateral series, reaching No 1 across formats, all these are motivational stuff. It feels good to always get into past a bit. During first World Cup in 1983, we were very young. Later, saw videos of how everyone celebrated. In 2007, we won World T20. So we are good at it (World titles). It's good that we carried that legacy forward and hand it over to the future generations. Hopefully, the (new) jersey becomes a part of lot of World Cups but it is the consistency that we are really proud of."

It is worth mentioning here that Dhoni, who made his debut in 2004, has been a part of several memorable victories for India, albiet in different shades of blue in 2007 and 2011 World Cup. Under his leadership, India turned the tides after a forgettable 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean island to emerge on top in the inaugural edition of World T20. In addition, he led India to CB series victory Down Under, their second World Cup in 2011 and 2013 Champions Trophy as well.

On the other hand, Indian skipper Kohli pointed out what it means to him to don the national jersey and how it should be valued at all times. "There is a certain importance and pride attached to this jersey. Everyone needs to realise that. You have to strive for excellence and show that you are obsessed to win every minute of the game. That's how you get that jersey."

While Indian women's team got the better of England at home in a three-match ODI series. Mithali has openly stated that the side is eyeing a direct qualification for the ICC Women's World Cup in 2021.
