Raman Lamba was born on this day in 1960. He played four Tests and 32 ODIs for India.

Raman Lamba was playing on behalf of Bangladesh Cricket Club Abahani Krira Chakra in Dhaka on 20 February 1998. The club faced Mohammedan Sporting. Lamba was standing in the catching position very close to the batsman at the time of fielding. The batsman shot a fast shot. The ball hit the head of Raman Lamba, who was not wearing a helmet at that time. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. But the injury was so deep that his life could not be saved. He died on the third day in the hospital.
