Indian players win 38 medals on seventh day of South Asian Games

Shortly before, on the strength of swimmers and wrestlers, India crossed the total number of medals in the 13th South Asian Games (Saig) to 250. On the seventh day, the swimmers made seven gold, two silver and two bronze, including 11, while the wrestlers hit the golden fours. With this, India won 38 medals including 22 gold 10 silver and six bronze on Sunday. India's total medals have gone up to 252 (132 gold, 79 silver, and 41 bronze).

Wrestlers' golden fours: Wrestlers beat Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik (62 kg) and World Championship Under-23 silver medalist Ravinder (61 kg). Apart from these two, Pawan Kumar (86 kg) and Anshu (59 kg) also became champions. The wrestlers have so far won yellow medals in all 12 sections.

15 boxers including Vikas in the finals: If sources are to be believed, seven more boxers including Commonwealth Games champion Vikas Krishna (69 kg) and Pinky Rani (51 kg) entered the finals. Now 15 Indian boxers have reached the title match. Apart from Vikas and Pinky, Sparsh Kumar (52 kg), Virender (60 kg), Narendra (plus 91 kg), Sania Lather (57 kg) and Manju (64 kg) advanced to the finals. Sachin (81 kg) was eliminated in the first round after losing 2-3 to Nepal's Ganesh Pradhan. Vikas defeated Bikash Lamba of Nepal 5–0 in the final, Virender defeated Chakma Surya of Bangladesh 5–0, Sparsh defeated Nepal's Tej Bahadur 5–0 and Narender defeated Adurakaram of Sri Lanka 5–0. In the women's section, Pinky defeated Pakistan's Aziz Razia Bano 5-0. Sonia's Mehreen and Manju of Pakistan defeated Rukhsana, the prince of this country.
