Official figures released on Monday revealed that the Indian economy increased by more than 5 percent in the October-December quarter of 2021-22. “In the months of October and December, the Indian GDP grew by 5.4 percent”.
According to figures released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.7 percent in the equivalent period of 2020-21. The National Statistics Office (NSO) forecasted 8.9 percent growth in 2021-22 in its second advance estimates of national accounts.
It anticipated 9.2 percent growth for 2021-22, compared to 6.6 percent shrinkage in 2020-21, in its first advance estimates released in January.
Due to a smaller base effect, the economy grew by 20.3 percent in the first quarter of this fiscal year. The GDP increased by 8.5 percent in the second quarter. In October-December 2021, China's economy increased by 4 percent.
