New Delhi: Farmers from across the country will take to the streets on Monday to protest against India's participation in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee has expressed concern that if India joins the RCEP treaty, the country's agricultural sector will be severely affected. Not only this, India's dairy industry will be completely destroyed.

Farmers' organizations have raised strong objections to India's involvement in the RCEP. Farmers say that if this treaty happens, one-third of the country's market will be occupied by New Zealand, America and European nations and the price of their produce will fall in the prices of the farmers of India. In view of this, around 250 farmer organizations in the country will protest against it at the district and local levels.

Farmers' organizations say that the situation of farmers in the country is already very bad. Incidents of farmers committing suicide are constantly happening due to crop failure, not getting the right price and due to debt burden. By ignoring the plight of the farmers, the government is going to sign the RCEP which ruined the farmers. After India's signing of RCEP, the country's dairy industry will be completely destroyed.
