Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla describes LAC's current situation as worse

New Delhi: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan has termed the current situation in Ladakh since the 1962 war on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) as extremely worse. A few hours after harsh Vardhan's statement, union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chinese Defence Minister General Wei Feng discussed the issue of resolving the border dispute in the Russian capital Moscow.

During the Council of World Affairs meeting in New Delhi, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan said, "India will not compromise with its territorial integrity and sovereignty, but is ready to resolve the dispute through dialogue. Replying to a question during the meeting, Harsh Vardhan said, "There are unprecedented situations on the Indo-China border since 1962. Such a situation has never been created since 1962. The Jawans have lost their lives, which has not happened in the last 40 years. This is an unprecedented situation". 

Rajnath Singh and Chinese Defence Minister Wei Feng are on a visit to Russia to attend the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) meeting. The two leaders discussed for 2 hours 20 minutes. On Thursday, the Chinese defence minister expressed his willingness to meet Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh when the Strategically important areas were captured in the southern region of the Pangong Tso Lake by the Indian Army.
