New Delhi: During the crisis of the corona epidemic, it was expected that the health sector would get something bigger from the Modi government. The Modi government has increased the budget for the health sector in view of Corona and has also introduced a special scheme. Modi government gave the gift of a self-reliant health scheme to the people of the country through the budget. The health budget has increased by 135 percent and it has been increased from 94 thousand to 2.38 lakh crore.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will spend about 61 thousand crores on this item in the next 6 years. He informed that under this, expenditure will be spent on health services from the initial level to the higher level. There will also be a focus on new diseases, which will be separate from the National Health Mission. It has been announced in the budget that 75 thousand rural health centers will be opened. Detection centers in all districts, Critical care hospitals will be opened in 602 districts. The National Center for Disease Control, the Integrated Health Info portal, will be further strengthened. 17 new public health units will also be commissioned.

The central government has also announced the creation of the National Institute of World Health. Not only this, but 9 bio labs will also be created. Keeping in mind Corona, a major step has also been taken to create four institutes of virology.
