NEW DELHI: The Indian junior women's hockey team left for South Africa in the early hours of Tuesday, February 14, morning from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore.

Between February 17 and 25, the Indian squad, led by Preeti as captain and Rutaja Dadaso Pisal as vice-captain will compete in a number of games against the South African junior women's hockey team and the South Africa A side.

Preeti mentioned playing in South Africa and stated, "The entire team is incredibly eager to play in South Africa. Many of the players are on their first tour, and we are prepared for the challenge. 

We enjoyed a fantastic camp at Sports Authority of India in Bangalore, where we had the opportunity to closely observe the Senior team." "Prior to the Asia Cup U-21, which will serve as a qualification event for the 2018 FIH Junior Women's Hockey World Cup, these matches versus South Africa will serve as a valuable exposure tour. These South African matches will assist us identify the areas that require improvement "Preeti said.

The team will play South Africa's U-21 team on February 17, 18, and 20. On February 24 and 25, the team will play two games against South Africa's "A" team.
