New Delhi: India's junior men's hockey performance continues in the Sultan of Johor Cup. The Indian team has entered the final of the ninth Sultan of Johor Cup by defeating Australia 5–1 on Wednesday i.e. Wednesday. For India, Shilanand Lakra (26th and 29th minute) scored two goals while Dilpreet Singh (44th minute), Gursahibjit Singh (48th minute) and Mandeep Mor (50th minute) scored one each. India got a chance to score in the first minute from Australia's mistake but Robert Macklinan did not allow Gursahibjit to get the right angle and then got the ball out.

After this, the game was seen in midfield for most of the whole quarter. Australia got their first penalty corner in the eighth minute but the team could not convert it into a goal. India fielded goalkeeper Prashant Chauhan in the second quarter. Australia meanwhile made a good move and Michael Francis's shot was driven by Sam McCullough towards the goal but Chauhan thwarted the attack. India got their first penalty corner in the second quarter but failed to convert from Gursahibjit into a goal. India then took the lead thanks to Lakra's goal. Australia's defence collapsed with Dilpreet's brilliant pass, taking advantage of which Lakra sent the ball into the goal. India won the match, keeping the lead till the end.
