Bajaj Auto has made history by launching the world's first CNG bike, the Bajaj Freedom 125, in the Indian market. This groundbreaking vehicle is not only a first in India but also globally, and it's set to revolutionize the two-wheeler industry. The Bajaj Freedom 125 was launched on July 5th in the presence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

With the launch of this CNG bike, Bajaj Auto aims to provide an alternative fuel option to customers, besides petrol. The company plans to initially focus on the Indian market, which is a significant one, before exploring exports to other countries. According to Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, the company will first strengthen its hold in the Indian market before venturing into other countries.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is expected to be exported to six countries, including Egypt, Tanzania, Peru, Colombia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, where CNG refueling infrastructure is available. Sharma mentioned that Bajaj Auto already has a presence in these countries with its three-wheeler range, which comes with a bi-fuel option.

Bajaj Auto is gearing up for mass production of the CNG bike, with plans to produce 10,000 units in the first 2-3 months. By the end of the financial year 2024-25, the company aims to produce 30,000 to 40,000 units. The initial focus will be on states with a strong CNG network, such as Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Bajaj Auto is one of India's largest two-wheeler exporters, with 30-40% of its sales coming from exports. The company has made a significant impact in the international market with its two-wheelers and now plans to replicate this success with the CNG bike.

The launch of the Bajaj Freedom 125 marks a significant milestone in the two-wheeler industry, and it's expected to pave the way for other manufacturers to follow suit. With its commitment to innovation and sustainability, Bajaj Auto is set to revolutionize the way India commutes."
