With discussions about coronavirus vaccines and its distribution gaining momentum, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offering its services ‘free-of-cost’ for the effective implementation of the vaccine across the country. “IMA offers its genuine cooperation and support to the Government in making available the vaccination services people across the country. All the IMA members will offer their services voluntarily and free of cost. The vaccines have to be provided as per cold chain conditions along with the disposables. This will be a force amplifier for the vaccination programme and substantially increase the number of outlets available for the people

President of IMA-Indore Dr Satish Joshi said, "We have over 2400 registered members in the Indore chapter. We informed the Chief Minister that we are ready to offer free services in the vaccination programme for Covid-19. We are ready to be a part of the vaccination programme, planning of the programme, and other necessary support." He said all their members work in private and government hospitals and health facilities so they can also provide the necessary nursing support. Secretary Dr Sadhna Sodani said, "It would be a matter of pride if we could be of any help in the programme. IMA always tries to lead in times of crisis and we will help the government."

State vice president of IMA Dr Sanjay Londhe said, "Not only in Indore or Madhya Pradesh, but our national body has proposed to work for free across the nation to get people vaccinated at the earliest."
