The Indian men's table tennis team has started on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, and has made preparations to create history by making a place in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 through Olympic qualifiers.
It has been reported that the fifth-seeded Indian team has experienced players like G Sathiyan (world ranking 30), Sharat Kamal (world ranking 33) and Harmeet Desai (world ranking 86) to get the Olympic team ticket. The qualifier will have to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Let us tell you that Indian table tennis players have also represented the country in the Olympics before but when they have a chance to qualify as a team, not an individual. The men's team will face Luxembourg in the opening match. The 17th seeded women's team will face Sweden, considered strong.
