New Delhi: At a spectacular ceremony held at INS Utkrosh, Port Blair on May 31, 2022, Lieutenant General Ajai Singh, AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, A&N Islands commissioned Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 325, which operates the indigenously produced ALH MK III aircraft, into the Indian Navy.

The newly inducted aircraft flew over the Andaman Islands for the first time earlier this year and were officially inducted on January 28, 2022. The ALH MK III Squadron is the Indian Navy's second ALH MK III Squadron.

Lieutenant General Ajai Singh addressed the crowd and praised the INS Utkrosh on this historic occasion. He highlighted the Indian Armed Forces' contribution to the recent national crises, as well as the ALH's outstanding service in recent years, especially during relief operations in India and abroad.

He also praised the air station's efforts, saying that witnessing such a key military milestone was a true honour and privilege. The addition of ALH MK III to ANC's surveillance and long-range SAR capabilities would be enormous. This aircraft would not only improve military capabilities in the region, but it would also be able to aid local authorities in any emergency.

Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), Bangalore, has developed and constructed a state-of-the-art multi-role helicopter that symbolises the Atmanirbhar Bharat objective and helps protect India's marine interests in the region while also bolstering India's strategic position.
