New Delhi: The Indian Navy has successfully tested the anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile on Tuesday. The test was conducted in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Earlier, on 24 November, the surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile BrahMos has been successfully tested.
Amid the ongoing deadlock on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), India is busy in increasing its strength. Several cruise and ballistic missiles are being tested one after the other for the last three months. Different versions of BrahMos, a supersonic cruise missile made by joint efforts of India and Russia, were also tested. BrahMos is the fastest operating system in the world in its category and the range of this missile system has been extended by DRDO to about 450 km from the current 290 km. The naval version of the BrahMos missile was successfully test fired in the Arabian Sea on 18 October.
During the test, BrahMos had demonstrated its ability to hit the target 400 km away. After this, on 24 November, a successful test of the land-attack version of the surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was conducted in Andaman and Nicobar.
