In a courageous mission, the Indian Navy successfully rescued the crew members of a cargo ship flying the flag of Bangladesh. The ship had been hijacked by pirates near the coast of Somalia. According to an official statement released on Friday, the Navy's swift action ensured the safety of the crew.

The rescue operation began on the evening of March 12, when the Indian Navy received a distress call from the MV Abdullah, a cargo ship traveling from Mozambique to the UAE. The ship was under attack by armed pirates who were threatening the crew. Responding promptly, the Navy deployed a warship and a Long-Range Maritime Patrol (LRMP) aircraft to locate the hijacked vessel.

Despite attempts to establish communication with the MV Abdullah, there was no response from the ship. Undeterred, the Navy continued with the operation.

Finally, on Thursday, a warship intercepted the hijacked cargo ship. Navy commandos swiftly boarded the vessel and successfully rescued all the crew members, who were Bangladeshi nationals. Following the rescue, the ship was safely escorted to Somali waters.

This bold and efficient action by the Indian Navy underscores their commitment to safeguarding maritime security and ensuring the safety of seafarers in the region.
