New Delhi: In a significant achievement, the Indian Navy proudly announced on Friday that the Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 316 has successfully surpassed the remarkable milestone of 5,000 operational flying hours.

Established on March 29, 2022, INAS 316 has been operating with a fleet of four Long-Range (LR) anti-submarine warfare (ASW) P8I aircraft. This achievement underscores the squadron's extraordinary dedication and commitment, as it reached this impressive milestone in less than two years of its commissioning. The squadron, known as "The Condors," lives up to its motto - "Glory Through Valour," symbolizing the unwavering spirit and valor of the men and women who operate beneath its wings.

In a statement posted on social media (formerly Twitter), the Indian Navy shared, "INAS 316, commissioned on March 29, 2022, in Goa with four LR ASW P8I aircraft, has completed more than 5,000 hours of operational flying, exemplifying the Squadron's motto - Glory Through Valour, which also symbolizes the unwavering spirit of men and women beneath the wings."

Currently, INAS 316 and INAS 312 are the two squadrons entrusted with the operation of the state-of-the-art P8I aircraft, signifying their pivotal role in enhancing surveillance capabilities not only across the Indian Ocean but also extending their reach beyond, bolstering security along the northern and western borders.
