During the Corona period, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Indian government has decided that people from India will not be sent to Saudi Arabia for Haj 2020. He said that Corona virus (COVID-19) Saudi Arabia requested not to send pilgrims on Haj this year. After this, it was decided not to send people on Haj pilgrimage. Significantly, Saudi Arabia has said that this year's Hajj will not be canceled, but a 'very limited number' of people will be allowed to come here due to Corona virus.

In his statement, Naqvi said that Saudi Arabia's Haj and Umrah minister Mohammad Saleh bin Taher Benten called last night and suggested not sending Haj pilgrims from India for Haj this year. Honoring this decision, it was decided that this year Hajj will not be sent to Indian pilgrims. India and Saudi signed the bilateral Haj 2020 agreement on 1 December 2019.

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia said on Monday that it has banned international pilgrims to perform Haj this year. This decision has been taken in view of the corona virus epidemic. During this time it was said that people of different countries currently living in the country will be allowed to join it. A statement from the Saudi government said that this decision has been taken to ensure safe Haj pilgrimage from the point of view of public health. However, the government did not provide information about how many people will be allowed to participate. The annual Haj pilgrimage is to begin in late July this year. Every year around 20 lakh Muslims usually gather in Saudi Arabia's Mecca for Hajj.
