New Delhi: IRCTC has taken a big decision regarding Tejas Express starting between Lucknow to Delhi. In order to attract railway passengers, along with insurance, provision for compensation for the delay of the train has also been added. If the train is1 hour late then the passenger will be given a compensation of Rs 100. If there is a delay of more than 2 hours, then every passenger will be given 250 rupees.

Tejas Express is the first train operated by a private company. The Railway Board is considering running such trains on other routes as well. The Tejas train is overseen by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). Premium services and facilities will be provided to the passengers in Tejas. Like the aircraft, the train will have facilities for private LCD entertainment-cum-information screen, onboard Wi-Fi service, comfortable seats, mobile charging, personal reading lights, modular bio-toilet and sensor tape fittings.

At present, 53 trains including Swarn Shatabdi are operated on Lucknow-Delhi route. However, the Rajdhani Express is not available in the state capital Lucknow. Soon after the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express, the Tejas Express running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai can also be started. A total of 758 passengers will be able to travel on Tejas Express. The train will have an executive class air-conditioned chair car, which will have 56 seats and 9 air-conditioned chair cars, each of which will have 78 seats.
