New Delhi: Central Railway has announced to run 72 special trains in view of the demand of the people in the near future. Passengers travelling in these trains will have to follow corona guidelines. Also, these special trains run by Indian Railways will be allowed to travel only if they have confirmed tickets. According to Railways, booking of tickets at PRS counters and portals will be required for these special trains from 8th July.
At the same time, railways have taken this decision in view of the upcoming Ganpati Festival. According to Central Railway, 72 special trains will be run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus/Panvel and Sawantwadi Road/Ratnagiri to reduce the additional rush of people due to Ganpati Mahotsav 2021. These 72 special trains will be operated in the month of September. Due to this, these trains will run between Mumbai and Konkan. According to Central Railway, 36 trips of trains have been planned on Mumbai-Konkan route between July 5 and July 22.
According to Central Railway, the train will depart from CSMT station at 12:20 pm and reach Sawantwadi Road station at 2 pm. However, the train will run from Sawantwadi Road station at 2.40 pm and reach CSMT station at 4.35 am the next day. In addition, 10 rounds of special train will also be taken between CSMT and Ratnagiri. According to the Railways, the train will be operated twice a week between September 6 and September 20, meaning Monday and Friday. The train will leave CSMT at 1.10 pm every Monday and Friday and reach Ratnagiri at 10.35 pm.
